"HYDERABAD " A name that  makes us feel like " Buddy I am from  the mughls".
Still this name falls under many differentiated opinions .....

-Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah of the Qutub Shahi dynasty built the city of Hyderabad .
-The city was Named  as Hyder after the title of the Fourth Caliph Ali.

-Also believed that  the city  was named after the people who survived the plaque
1)"City of the Brave" from the Persian words "Hyder/Haider"
2)Persian and Urdu meaning lion or brave and "Abad/Abaad".

-The city was named Bhagyanagar in 1590 after Bhagyamati, the beloved of Sultan Muhammad Quli of the Qutub Shahi dynasty.
HYDER MAHAL
Once she entered the royal household and embraced Islam, she was rechristened Hydermahal and the city got its second name, Hyderabad.

*Yes it is from the Mughals*

After the period of mughals the city has gone through many level of transitions.
but still  in the 20 th century Hyderabad has a place that will make you taste the culture of Mughals and Nawabs.

Old city of Hyderabad is the most beloved place for all Hyderabadis regardless of its heavy crowd and small roads.
People of Hyderabad adore few things. That any traveler should try during  the visit to Hyderabad .
Irani Chai
Irani cafes are Iranian or Persian style cafes in India. They were believed to be opened by Persian immigrants in India in the 19th century. In every corner of Hyderabad these cafes are seen, may be a posh one or a little shabby and cheap looking cafe .But hyderabadis love to have a irani chai over a normal tea.
But slowly these irani cafes are aloso loosing their charm ,so many of them are keeping a chinese fast food stall attached to their regular business.
An Irani chai may cost some one starting from 5 rs nowadays to 10 rs. cost varies like 6-7 rs single tea(1/2 cup) or 10-12 rs for full cup.
Hyderabadis love to share a tea with a fashionable call 2/3 or 2 cups devided between 3 people .
and on an average a hyderabadi takes 5-6 cups of irani tea in a single day.
Osmania Biscuit
Osmania biscuits are the locally prepared bescuits taken with a tea sip.believe me although these biscuits are not that testy alone but with a tea it taste great.
Luqmi

Luqmi/Lukhmi  are the starters snacks available in various variants .stuffed or non stuffed ,stuffed one have little similar preparation like a samosa .with a different taste.
where as the non stuffed one are prepared like Puri and  also taste differet from a puri.
Mirchi Bajji

Mirchi bajji are verry common varient of snacks  freely available in small to big restaurants in Hyderabad ,also called as mirapakaya bajji in telugu, It is a popular street food of South India.
In this traditional mirchi bajji recipe, green chillis are stuffed with filling prepared with roasted peanuts, coconut and few other spices to give it a unique taste which compliments the hotness of the mirchi. It is often made at home to have it as a tea time snack especially during the monsoons or winters.
 Hyderabadi Briyani
In Hyderabad Briyani is one of the rich dish enjoyed  in every special ocassion or regular enjoyment.

The history of Biriyani’s origin is also quite contradictive .

Although this kind of mix food receipe preparation exist at every corner of india and may be also various corners of the world .

But there is a strong  belief  that biriyani was brought by the mughals  to india and another of chain by Arab traders ..

Bcause while the large army was moving, the cooks were unable to prepare a elaborate food . so available spices were used with half boiled meat and this preparation was cooked  later in one pot with rice so that the rice would absorb the aroma of spices and meat.

But , what so ever …..once a traveller tastes Biriyani at Hyderabad’s any well known biriyani Hotel  .I bet he/she will Never forget its taste .

Few well known biriyani hotels Name -:

1.   Paradise food court-: It has many branches all over Hyderabad .
2.   A1 Biriyani House
3.      Bawarchi hotel-: On This name there are many hotels like greenbawarchi, laal bawarchi and many others.
But all Bawarchi hotels are not of one chain ,and does not serve same quality food .so need to be careful before giving feedback before giving address .

Haleem/Hareesh
Haleem or Hareesh is well known in Hyderabad and specialy prepared in every corner of the city during Ramjan.
although there are many people have written on the actual origin name and receipe of haleem .Still Hyderabadis call the preparation made of meat or mutton a Haleem. The preparation made of chicken a Hareesh.

LAAD BAZAAR

"Laad Bazaar " located in one of the four main roads that have branched out from the famous historic Charminar specially a market dedicated for bangles and ornaments. The market that  shines like a diamond mine due to the colourful stonned and much more styles bangles and ornaments.you need to be very care ful while passing the lane as it is verry narrow and traffic consist of 90% ladies .
if you are travelling by a car ..... buddy be sure to be the best driver/to hire a much experienced driver of life time.

By now you should be thinking This man has been hitting around the bush ...
and not have spoken a single word about the historic landmark of Hyderabad , Charminar....
